Last Sunday, former KGV Students, Ben Mawdsley and Declan Crew, put on a star performance representing The University of Liverpool on the hit BBC show University Challenge. Team Captain Declan, led The University of Liverpool to victory against tough opposition, The University of Sheffield, with a winning score of 155 vs 130 points.

Declan, who currently studies Biochemistry at The University of Liverpool, previously attended KGV in 2008-2010, taking A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Further Maths and Physics, and was no stranger to a quiz challenge acting as a crucial member of the Maths Challenge team whilst at the College.

Ben, also completed A Levels at KGV in Biology, Maths and Physics during 2008-2010, and now studies Astrophysics at The University of Liverpool.

Fellow students Jim Davis (Tropical Disease Biology) and Hugh Hiscock (French MA) made up the other half of the winning team who will now progress on to the second round of the TV Show.

We wish the team the best of luck in the next round and look forward to watching the show!
